During the holy month of Ramadan, the UAE-Jordanian camp administration at Mrajeeb Al Fhood keeps up its humanitarian efforts.

Ramadan Iftar meals were given to camp residents, Syrian refugees, and impoverished families residing in makeshift shelters outside the camp in observance of Zayed Humanitarian Day. This initiative honours the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE,” said Saif Khalifa Al Suwaidi, chairman of the UAE relief team.

Since the start of the holy month, we have started a number of humanitarian projects to aid our refugee brothers and impoverished families in Jordan. “This includes carrying on Sheikh Zayed’s humanitarian work by distributing food parcels through registered charities throughout the Kingdom,” he explained.

The food distribution took place at the end of the camp’s Ramadan Sports Tournament, which attracted a sizable crowd of camp residents and volunteers from the UAE aid team, encouraging a lively and competitive attitude throughout the holy month.

According to Al Suwaidi, the competition has grown into a yearly event with the goals of fostering a sense of camaraderie among campers, encouraging a culture of sports and physical fitness, and uplifting the younger generation.
