Pakistani expatriates living in the United Arab Emirates sent almost $696 million in remittances to Pakistan in February 2026, ranking first among overseas Pakistani communities worldwide, according to figures issued by the State Bank of Pakistan.

According to economists, the development is important for bolstering Pakistan’s economy and increasing its foreign exchange reserves. Pakistan’s Consul General Hussain Muhammad, President of the Pakistan Social Center Sharjah Khalid Hussain Chaudhry, members of the diplomatic staff, and numerous business and community leaders attended a special ceremony held in Sharjah to commemorate this accomplishment.

Participants valued the contributions made by the Pakistani community during the occasion. A festive cake was cut, and Pakistanis living abroad were honored for their ongoing contribution to the growth of remittance inflows.

Speakers at the event stated that Pakistanis residing in the United Arab Emirates are making substantial contributions to Pakistan’s economic growth through remittances in addition to their prominent roles in the business and professional sectors. They reiterated that Pakistanis living abroad will maintain the same level of dedication to the nation’s economy going forward.
