In an effort to improve the commuter experience, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has finished installing free Wi-Fi service at 12 marine transport stations and 17 public bus stops in partnership with e& (Etisalat). The program allows public transport commuters to stay connected on their laptops, tablets and cellphones.

Further information was provided by Khaled AbdulRahman Al Awadhi, Director of Transportation Systems at RTA’s Public Transport Agency: “Efforts are moving quickly to expand the service to all 43 RTA stations, which include 21 bus stations and 22 marine transport stations. To date, we have installed Wi-Fi devices across 29 bus and marine transport stations. By the second quarter of 2025, the remaining installations should be finished.

This program is a component of RTA’s continuous endeavours to expedite the digital transformation of all its offerings, serving a variety of societal segments in accordance with the UAE’s vision. Furthermore, it demonstrates RTA’s dedication to improving the everyday commuter experience by making bus and maritime travel more pleasurable and fulfilling, all the while supporting Dubai’s goal of becoming the most imaginative and happiest city in the world.

In cooperation with e&, the Wi-Fi service will be continuously assessed to support its growth and improvement, guaranteeing the best possible connectivity for travellers utilising buses and ships throughout the emirate,” Al Awadhi continued.
