The selection acknowledges Oman’s longstanding intellectual presence throughout the Gulf and the larger Arab cultural landscape, as well as its contributions to Arab literature and ideas. Hosting Oman, according to Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, is a celebration of the richness of Arab and Gulf culture as well as of a country that shares many geographical, linguistic, and cultural traits with the United Arab Emirates.
According to her, Oman’s well-established cultural presence and unique experiences across a variety of knowledge-based disciplines will enhance the fair by providing audiences with opportunities to engage with the diversity of the Arab cultural landscape and fostering communication between readers and artists throughout the region.
Through its illustrious literary and intellectual traditions and the contributions of its authors, intellectuals, and artists, Oman has made a substantial impact on Arab culture. In addition to meeting notable cultural leaders who have contributed to the book and reading movement across generations, Oman’s presence at SIBF gives visitors the chance to engage with the artistic accomplishments of the country and discover the beauty and diversity of Omani literature and the arts, which reflect the depth and richness of Arab identity, Sheikha Bodour said.
The news came after Ahmed Bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of the SBA, and Said Bin Sultan Bin Yarub Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth for Culture, signed an agreement.
