Google’s YouTube has removed hundreds of AI-generated Bollywood videos with 16 million views after Reuters revealed that they resembled the videos at the heart of a court case brought by a famous couple to defend their rights.

A judge in New Delhi has been urged by Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and his spouse Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to order the removal of AI recordings that violate their intellectual property rights. YouTube’s AI training policy is also being contested in their litigation.

Reuters revealed this week that hundreds of additional identical movies, some featuring celebrities kissing or their lookalikes romancing through AI manipulation, were still displayed on YouTube, despite a judge ordering the removal of a few links that the performers had requested last month.

The “AI-generated Bollywood love stories” YouTube channel that was widely shared has been taken down. It formerly had 259 videos with 16.5 million views, some of which were sexually explicit. The link on Friday said, “This page isn’t available.” Its videos are no longer available. In a response to Reuters, YouTube stated that the content was removed off the site and that the channel that was mentioned in the news agency’s article had been deactivated by the creator.
