President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon are present during the signing of the two countries’ Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (Cepa).
At the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi and New Zealand Minister for Trade Hon. Todd McClay signed an agreement that will lower trade barriers, improve customs processes, and encourage more private sector investment and cooperation.
His Royal Highness The agreement, according to Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, was a significant contribution to the UAE’s Cepa program, strengthening connections with the vibrant Asia-Pacific region through one of its most advanced and open markets.
His Majesty The UAE-New Zealand Cepa brings the two nations together in a common goal of creating resilient, future-ready economies based on talent, innovation, and knowledge, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasised.
With bilateral non-oil commerce reaching $642 million in the first nine months of 2024 an growth of 8% from the same time in 2023—the UAE-New Zealand Cepa builds on the two nations’ expanding economic ties.
By the Cepa, the UAE will allow duty-free access to 98.5% of New Zealand exports, increasing to 99% after three years, while New Zealand will offer 100% duty-free access to imports from the UAE.
