Career Trajectory of Mohan Dass
We started the interview by asking, “How did your professional journey begin, and what key moments shaped where you are currently?”
Mohan shared, “My professional journey in the freight forwarding industry commenced in 2006 with the Emirates Group. Subsequently, I joined Inchcape Shipping and GWC Logistics. Before establishing my own venture, ICE Logistics LLC, I held the position of Head of the MENA, CIS, and India regions for Nedairfreight. Currently, he leads as the Managing Director of ICE Logistics LLC.”

“We offer a comprehensive solution for air freight working on a business-to-business basis and serve as master loaders for freight forwarders in the Middle East region for all their air freight from Europe to the Middle East. One of their advantages is that they have a single agent for all their cargo movements from Europe, unlike working with various agents in different countries within Europe. Therefore, we stand out from the competition and make us unique in our own way and within our industry as well,” he mentioned.

Mohan explained, “The challenge lies in integrating diverse work cultures, particularly between European practices and the client’s functioning in the Middle East. Striking a balance between these two cultures presents a constant challenge, yet it also adds an element of intrigue and interest to the project.”

We further asked, “How do you see technology — especially AI — influencing your sector?”
He reflected, “The increasing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is undoubtedly a factor that brings its own advantages. However, in an industry like ours, the human touch remains an essential element and plays a pivotal role.”

“It is undoubtedly progressing towards technological advancement, yet simultaneously, it is also positioning itself for the value creation of small organisations that prioritise human engagement values. In such organisations, the business is treated with utmost care and importance,” Mohan mentioned.
