Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on the first day of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2026. The Summit will take place from February 3 to 5, 2026, with the subject “Shaping Future Governments.”
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, were both at the meeting.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit Organization, and Mohamed Bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, were also at the meeting.
The discussion focused on changes in the global economy and the key challenges that arise when money and finance evolve. It also examined measures to strengthen cooperation between the UAE and the IMF to help keep the global economy stable and promote growth that is both sustainable and inclusive.
