We recently had the opportunity to interview Kristijan Binski, Founder and Creative Director of UNIKO™, an award-winning design studio headquartered in London and Miami. With over 15 years of experience in the design industry, Kristijan leads a team of highly skilled designers and developers, focusing on B2B clients who seek a strategic partner to deliver exceptional, bespoke websites that break conventional boundaries.

With an approach deeply rooted in responsibility and dedication, Kristijan aims to build lasting relationships rather than simply completing projects. At UNIKO™, they collaborate with those who appreciate the impact of top-tier design and strive to stand out in the industry.

The Beginning

We first asked, “What inspired you to start or lead this business, and how has the journey surprised you?”

Kristijan Binski shared, “After years in the industry, I reached a point where I was ready to channel my experience into something of my own. I had built strong relationships with clients who valued my commitment and expertise, and their trust gave me the confidence to launch UNIKO™.

Running an agency, however, is vastly different from being an independent designer. It requires balancing leadership, operations, team dynamics, and personal commitments. Every day presents new challenges, but it also brings opportunities to grow, innovate, and create work that makes an impact. It’s a dynamic journey that keeps me sharp and constantly evolving.”

Advice To Younger Self

We were interested to learn how Kristijan Binski would like to change the course of his career path if he had the chance. We asked, “If you could go back to your first year in this role, what advice would you give yourself?”

I’d tell myself to trust the process and stay focused on what truly moves the needle. In the beginning, it’s easy to chase every opportunity. But real growth comes from doubling down on what you do best and building strong relationships with the right clients. Looking back, I’d remind myself that success isn’t about speed, it’s about consistency, quality, and making decisions that create lasting impact. Every challenge has been a lesson, and every lesson has shaped the agency we are today.” He reflected.

Approach To Handle Challenges

We further asked, “How do you approach solving problems that don’t have clear solutions?”

Kristijan Binski replied, “Experience has taught me that every challenge has a solution, it’s just a matter of the right strategy and execution. At UNIKO™, we take a structured approach, working closely with clients to understand their business needs and designing solutions that align with their goals. Having a strong team is key, but ultimately, I take responsibility. We are passionate about delivering exceptional results and sharing a common vision with the visionary founders we work with. That’s what makes UNIKO™ stand out.

Career-Defining Experiences

Eager to learn more about the crucial events that shaped Kristijan’s professional life, we asked, “Can you share a unique experience that shaped the way you run your business today?”

Kristijan Binski responded, “Over the years, as an individual designer, I’ve had the privilege of working with industry leaders like Colgate, Adobe, Dermalogica, Johnson & Johnson, PeerSpot, and others. Each project has contributed to my growth and gained me the confidence to become a leader.

However, if I need to highlight one experience, it was a CGI demo video for our major Saudi client, ARGAS. It was a risk because it was a new service we started offering, but it paid off, reinforcing our belief in the power of digital innovation. That moment solidified our direction and our commitment to pushing creative boundaries.”

Out-Of-The-Box Ideas

We also asked, “What’s the most unconventional idea you’ve implemented, and how did it turn out?”

Kristijan Binski mentioned, “Early on, we took on a high-stakes project for a client who needed a 3D animated presentation, delivered in just five days. The event was set for the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, with an audience of 2,000 attendees. At the time, we didn’t have an in-house 3D motion designer, and outsourcing under such a tight deadline presented significant logistical challenges. 

To meet the demand, we took a calculated risk, hiring two separate teams, working around the clock, and collaborating closely with the client’s leadership to perfect every detail. Against the odds, we delivered a stunning presentation on time, exceeding expectations for both our team and our client. The audience response was overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing our ability to perform under pressure and deliver exceptional results, no matter the challenge.”

Staying Ahead Of The Curve

To stay ahead of the competition, it is crucial to identify the right trends and seize them. We asked, “How do you identify and seize new opportunities in your industry?”

We identify and seize new opportunities by staying deeply connected to industry shifts and aligning with businesses that share our vision for innovation and excellence. Rather than chasing every potential project, we focus on building long-term partnerships that allow us to create real impact.

Our growth in sectors like sustainability, energy, oil and gas, VCs, manufacturing, and logistics has been organic, driven by our ability to anticipate market needs and offer forward-thinking design solutions. We also invest in emerging technologies, ensuring we’re not just keeping up with industry trends but actively shaping them.

By maintaining a strong network, continuously refining our expertise, and strategically choosing collaborations, we position ourselves to take on projects that align with our strengths and push creative boundaries.” He shared.

An efficient leader can take the business to new heights of success. To learn about Kristijan Binski’s leadership approach, we inquired, “If you had to describe your leadership style in one word, what would it be, and why?”

Kristijan Binski added, “Committed. I lead with integrity, accountability, and a dedication to excellence. My team and our clients know they can count on me to follow through on promises and deliver exceptional results. Trust is the foundation of everything we do, and I ensure that reliability is reflected in every project, decision, and collaboration. We may not be the biggest design studio, but we are building something truly remarkable, and the journey ahead is just as exciting as the successes we’ve already achieved.”

While challenges are an inevitable part of every business, we were interested to learn how Kristijan turned them into opportunities for his business. So, we asked, “What’s a challenge you faced that turned into an unexpected opportunity?”

Kristijan Binski shared, “Technology is constantly reshaping the digital space, which means we have to be adaptable. Rather than seeing this as a challenge, we embrace it as an opportunity.

By staying ahead of trends and investing in emerging technologies like 3D, AI, and interactive experiences, we’ve positioned ourselves at the forefront of high-end digital transformation. Winning our first industry awards, from Awwwards, CSS Design Awards, CSS Light, ODA, Orpetron, and more; was just the beginning. Our vision is to continue pushing creative boundaries and crafting digital experiences that leave a lasting impact.”

A Transparent Approach

We ended the session by asking, “If you could change one thing about the industry you work in, what would it be?”

Transparency. Too often, businesses struggle to connect with the right creative partners, those who truly understand their vision and can deliver high-quality, strategic design solutions. The industry is saturated with agencies that prioritize quick wins over long-term impact, making it difficult for clients to distinguish real expertise from surface-level promises.

I’d love to see more open, meaningful collaboration between innovative businesses and design studios. When creative partnerships are built on trust and shared goals, the results are transformative, not just in aesthetics, but in real business growth.” Kristijan concluded.
