By deploying about Dhs30 billion in equity investments and obtaining more than Dhs16.5 billion in project finance across nine countries, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company-Masdar has strengthened its position as a global clean energy industry leader. These achievements demonstrate Masdar’s dedication to growing its portfolio of renewable energy sources while spearheading the global energy revolution.
Since its founding in 2006, Masdar has played a significant role in advancing the UAE’s goal of being a global leader in sustainability and climate action. With a commitment to boost its renewable energy portfolio capacity to 100GW by 2030, the company has created and collaborated on projects in more than 40 countries.
Masdar helps to speed up development and supports the UAE’s goal of being the biggest developer, owner, and operator of green hydrogen and renewable energy in the world. Additionally, it helps nations worldwide reach their climate neutrality goals while raising the production capacity of its project portfolio to 51GW by the end of 2024.
By making historic acquisitions in Greece, Spain, and the US, Masdar expanded its footprint in both Europe and North America and began construction on seven significant projects across the globe. These included the 1.5GW Al Ajban Solar Project in the United Arab Emirates, two BESS projects in the United Kingdom, and two solar projects in Azerbaijan with a total capacity of 760MW.
