Sir Michael Kadoorie, Chairman of CLP Holdings, a prominent energy solutions company, and Chairman of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Limited, the owner of the world-renowned luxury hotel chain The Peninsula Hotels, met with Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance.

Sheikh Maktoum underlined the UAE and Dubai’s commitment to a development model based on economic openness and long-term international alliances during the meeting, which was conducted at his office in Nad Al Sheba. Sheikh Maktoum emphasised that the UAE’s major economic sectors have experienced robust growth, supported by a modern and adaptable legal and regulatory framework that encourages investment growth and ensures its long-term viability.

The summit also emphasised Dubai’s and the United Arab Emirates’ enormous tourist potential, which is bolstered by top-notch infrastructure, a varied tourism portfolio, and exceptional natural resources. Taken as a whole, these advantages have made Dubai one of the world’s top travel destinations. Additionally, it was mentioned that in 2025, the emirate saw a record 19.59 million foreign tourists.

Opportunities to increase high-quality investments in accordance with the UAE’s plans for economic diversification and Dubai Economic Agenda D33 were also discussed, enhancing the country’s standing as a major international center for innovation, investment, and tourism.
