After a protracted illness, prominent politician and former Karnataka chief minister SM Krishna passed away in Bengaluru on Tuesday. He was ninety-three. Krishna was afflicted with age-related illnesses.After contracting a lung infection, he was first taken to the Vaidehi Hospital before being moved to the Manipal Hospital. He was just treated in the intensive care unit. At his home in Sadashivanagar, he passed away. His two daughters and wife, Prema, survive him. His son-in-law was the late VG Siddhartha, who founded Cafe Coffee Day.
Additionally, Modi posted on his X account, “People from all walks of life admired Shri SM Krishna Ji as a remarkable leader.” He never stopped trying to make other people’s life better. His time as chief minister of Karnataka is remembered with fondness, especially for his emphasis on infrastructure development. In addition, Shri SM Krishna Ji read a lot and thought a lot.
Droupadi Murmu expressed his condolences on Krishna’s passing. Sad to hear of the passing of Shri SM Krishna, who during the course of his lengthy career in public life served people in a variety of roles, including governor, union minister, and member of parliament and the state legislature. He gained popularity as Karnataka’s chief minister because of his dedication to the state’s progress.
