The Kalimat Foundation’s founder and chairperson, Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, presided over the Board of Trustees meeting, during which participants examined the organization’s accomplishments in 2025 and talked about its strategic plan for 2026. The gathering reiterated the Foundation’s long-standing dedication to educating children and defending their global access to books and reading.
The Kalimat Foundation broadened the reach of its iconic “Pledge a Library” program in 2025 to include youngsters in some of the most underprivileged areas in the world. As part of its growing commitment to fair access to knowledge, the Foundation contributed 4,600 Arabic-language books to 46 mobile libraries operating in 42 locations across eight countries: Brazil, Comoros, Morocco, Greece, the United Kingdom, Uganda, and Portugal.
Sheikh Bodour emphasized throughout the meeting that the Foundation’s aim is still based on accessible publishing. Investing in knowledge is one of the most significant and long-lasting ways to support children and their communities, she said, characterizing it as a sustained paradigm of empowerment rather than a transient intervention.
“Accessible publishing reimagines the child’s relationship with reading, education, and life,” Bodour continued. It fosters independence and the capacity to make wise decisions while providing opportunities for self-discovery and global awareness.
