
Dr. Majid Takht Ravanchi, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, met with Dr. Anwar Gargash, the UAE President’s Diplomatic Advisor, on Saturday. Both sides praised the most recent round of political negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Arab Emirates, which were the topic of discussion during the meeting.
The two officials discussed strategies to improve trade and economic ties with the surrounding nations and emphasized the significance of advancing shared interests. International and regional developments of shared interest were also discussed at the meeting. Iranian Ambassador to the UAE Reza Ameri and UAE Ambassador to Iran Saif Al Zaabi attended the talks. On Friday, February 28, 2025, the United Arab Emirates’ and the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ministries of foreign affairs had their first round of political negotiations in Abu Dhabi.
Assistant Minister for Political Affairs Lana Nusseibeh and Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi co-chaired the meeting. Both parties welcomed the first round of political consultations during the session, which was seen as a chance to discuss a variety of issues of shared interest. Senior officials from both sides attended the meetings, together with Saif Al Zaabi, the UAE’s ambassador to Iran, and Reza Ameri, the Iranian ambassador to the UAE.
