An umbrella organization made up of 23 Philippine professional groups has worked to provide its members and their families with more benefits nationwide. Following the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on March 13 between the Philippine Professional Organization-UAE (PPO-UAE) and the San Lucas Medical Center (SLMC), which is accredited by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the new benefits were immediately activated.
SMLC CEO Mohamed Munas and Philippine Consulate General-Dubai Economic Affairs and Community Relations Vice Consul Jim Jimeno attended the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between PPO-UAE chairman Lyndon Magsino and SLMC Medical and Administrative director Dr. Antonio Ronaldo Fabian. Magsino, a certified public accountant who has lived in Qatar and the UAE for more than 20 years, stated, “The presence of SLMC in the UAE with its 100% Filipino staff and medical team is a tremendous advantage for us all.”
“This project is not just about business. It is about accomplishing a shared objective of assisting our people in obtaining high-quality healthcare,” Magsino continued. PPO-UAE was founded in 2009 and has 6,500 members who are considered “actively licensed professionals.” On March 12, PPO-UAE officials held a “strategic meeting with Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates Ambrosio Brian Enciso III for the enhancement of cooperation that shall advance programs and initiatives – not only meant for the over 56,000-strong umbrella organization members – but also to ensure that their combined expertise “contributes positively to the broader UAE society.”
