Novartis spearheaded a campaign to bring awareness and on-site screening to companies around the United Arab Emirates in partnership with Friends of Cancer Patients’ Pink Caravan. Although October was a pivotal month for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the campaign’s influence goes well beyond that, as it continues to support early detection and maintain community awareness throughout the United Arab Emirates.
To integrate health awareness and preventive screening into workers’ everyday work, Novartis is collaborating with leading employers across industries, including media, telecommunications, and aviation. This initiative, which has reached hundreds of workers from different firms, demonstrates Novartis’ commitment to assisting employers in prioritizing the well-being of their workforce by facilitating early detection.
“Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the United Arab Emirates, accounting for over one-third of all female cancer cases,” said Aisha Abdulla Al Mulla, Director of Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP), UAE, in response to the campaign. Cooperation and a common commitment are necessary to overcome this obstacle. We hope to directly implement screening and education programs in workplaces through our collaboration with Novartis. By working together, we can pool our resources, knowledge, and experience to develop a more thorough and well-coordinated strategy for combating breast cancer throughout the United Arab Emirates.
