His Highness the President In order to align with the nation’s festivities of the 54th Eid Al Etihad, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered that seven mosques in Abu Dhabi be named after the UAE’s Emirates.

Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, commended the initiative, stating that it demonstrates the President’s commitment to instilling the Union’s values and spirit in future generations, motivating them to continue the country’s unwavering path of progress and generosity.

According to Dr. Al Darei, seven mosques in Mohamed bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi, will be named after the seven Emirates in accordance with His Highness’ order. The Presidential Court, the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, and the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi collaborated to build the mosques, which together can house about 6,000 worshippers.

The seven mosques, which together occupy an area of about 12,000 square meters, are anticipated to welcome worshippers in January of the following year. According to Dr. Al Darei, the mosques were created in a contemporary architectural style that skillfully combines Islamic art and tradition with cutting-edge innovation.
