The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt expressed their profound concern about the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, which has been made worse by severe, harsh, and unpredictable weather conditions, such as storms and heavy rainfall, as well as by the ongoing lack of adequate humanitarian access, acute shortages of life-saving supplies, and the slow entry of necessary materials needed for the establishment of temporary housing and the rehabilitation of basic services.

The ministers emphasized that the harsh weather has exposed the vulnerability of the current humanitarian situation, especially for the over 1.9 million individuals and displaced families residing in subpar shelters. The risks to civilian lives have been greatly increased by flooded camps, damaged tents, the collapse of damaged buildings, exposure to cold temperatures combined with malnutrition, and disease outbreaks, particularly among women, children, the elderly, and people with medical vulnerabilities.

They praised the sustained efforts of international humanitarian NGOs and all United Nations organizations and agencies, particularly UNRWA, in continuing to support Palestinian citizens and provide humanitarian aid amid incredibly challenging and complex circumstances.
