How these Emirati Sisters Created a Successful Business out of their Love of Cooking

Entrepreneurship is a family affair for Laila and Hessa Bin Hendi, two Emirati sisters. The two have turned their mutual passion for food into a successful business, Food4ME, which they use for everything from corporate gatherings to their personal kitchen. The sisters have created a business that embodies their family values, inventiveness, and the opportunities presented by the United Arab Emirates, specialising in providing tasty, mess-free meals for parties and business events.

Laila Bin Hendi, 42, remembers with nostalgia the early years when her dream of being an entrepreneur began. Laila says, “My father has served as both my inspiration and my role model.” “I hope to achieve something similar to what he has accomplished, having seen him struggle to establish his business.” The tenacity and will of her father’s journey served as the inspiration for Laila’s ambition to start her own business.

Laila’s career path took her to human resources (HR) positions at ENOC and Barclays Bank in her early 20s before she decided to start her own business. At age 26, she started her own business. “I still use the fundamental people and operational skills I learnt working in HR,” she says. These acquired behaviours included managing daily operations in huge corporations and interacting with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
