The capital city of Abu Dhabi has been experiencing intense rains since the early hours of the morning, affecting many neighborhoods and suburbs. Lightning, thunder, and a discernible drop in temperature have all coincided with the downpour. Over the coming days, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast sporadic, variable-intensity rainfall in a number of regions of the nation.
The NCM predicts that the western, coastal, eastern, and island regions will have showers at night on Tuesday, while the northern, eastern, and southern regions are likely to see rain throughout the day. According to the NCM, there will be sporadic showers throughout the nation on Wednesday, with heavier rainfall expected in the eastern regions and Al Ain at night. Later on evening, though, there is less chance of rain.
Rainfall is expected to return in the afternoon in the northern and eastern regions, including Al Ain, on Thursday. There is a slight risk of rain in the morning. This rain may reach western regions, islands, and coastal areas at night. The NCM forecasts that rain will start on Friday over islands and coastal regions before moving to rest of the nation. The Ministry of Interior has emphasized the necessity of taking precautionary action to protect public safety in light of the current meteorological conditions, which are marked by fluctuations and severe winds.
The Ministry has advised locals to emphasize safety at all times, avoid traveling during strong winds, and restrict outside activities to necessities. It is recommended that drivers slow down, keep a safe distance from other cars, and only drive when absolutely required. It also emphasized the significance of remaining composed and watchful, avoiding valleys and flood-prone locations, staying away from the sea, and avoiding areas where water accumulates.
