“The ability of governments to keep up with the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence will be a key benchmark of their success in realising strategic objectives and enhancing community wellbeing,” stated Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation.

“Unprecedented scientific and technological advancements are taking place around the world,” he remarked. At this critical juncture, we aim to establish Dubai as one of the most progressive and adaptable cities in the world for embracing and influencing technological change. Our goal is to seize every opportunity to enhance society, stimulate the economy, and shape the future we envision.

These statements were given by Sheikh Hamdan on Monday during Dubai AI Week 2025’s AI Retreat. AREA 2071, the Museum of the Future, and other significant venues across the city will host ten major events over the course of five days.

More than 150 government representatives and international specialists attended the AI Retreat, which was hosted in the Museum of the Future. It featured four private roundtable talks on talent development, digital infrastructure, data and governance, and the economy and investment.

Participants examined the prospects offered by AI applications, discussed important and pertinent laws and policies, and proposed ways to enhance the beneficial developmental effects of AI in key industries.
