His Majesty The annual Ramadan media event hosted by the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) was attended by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
Along with other notable media personalities and the leaders of local, regional, and global media outlets, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, attended the event.
In his speech, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed emphasised that media companies are essential to the development of advanced societies because they monitor world events, give a clear and accurate picture of events and transformations, increase public awareness, and help people understand the implications of events that are happening. This helps societies better navigate change and react to the forces that are influencing their present and future.
Sheikh Mohammed also emphasised the media’s wider function, pointing out that it does much more than just disseminate news. His Highness also emphasised the importance of the media in encouraging creativity and a positive outlook, emphasising that responsible and honest media are essential to creating stability.
