Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who also serves as the Energy Council’s chairman, chaired the Council’s first meeting on Wednesday.

Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Petroleum Department, was present at the meeting, which was held at the Ruler’s Office.

In addition to welcoming the Council members, Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed congratulated them on the confidence that Supreme Council member and Sharjah ruler His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi had placed in them by choosing them to join the Council. He wished them luck as they strive to realize their future.

They concentrated on developing long-term plans and sustainable strategies for the water and energy sectors, highlighting the necessity of practical solutions that encourage the use of renewable and alternative energy sources while also foreseeing future advances in the industry.

The Council emphasized how crucial it is for the public and private sectors to work together and coordinate in the energy sector. By diversifying energy sources and making sure they are delivered with high efficiency and sustainability, this initiative seeks to accelerate economic growth in Sharjah. The Council also emphasized the importance of studying the best worldwide models and practices in order to effectively draw on a variety of experiences.
