On the first day of the 13th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2024), a significant program was held to develop tomorrow’s leaders. The full-day training program, “New Generation Skills for Kids: Integrating System Thinking & Technology,” was created due to a strategic partnership between the Sharjah Private Education Authority and Strawberry Fields, a leader in analytical tools and growth strategies based in the UK. The program aimed to give kids the technological and communication skills they need to succeed in an increasingly complex digital world.

Through interactive lectures, group discussions, and practical exercises, the program allowed participants to collaborate and use storytelling as a creative outlet for their ideas. Focusing on kids and teenagers from 8 to 15, the program provided in-depth instruction to assist them in navigating the swift advances in communication and technology. Under the direction of John Rainford, CEO of Strawberry Fields, business coach, and aspiring technologist, the course covered topics like mind mapping, integrating technology and logic, and developing critical and creative thinking abilities.

We are talking about how technology will work in systems in the future, be they educational, planetary, or ecological. According to Rainford, finding practical solutions to issues requires an understanding of these systems. “Our goal is to improve communication and give kids the skills to use technology responsibly.
