Due to rapid swerving and driving too fast, four young men were killed in a car accident on the Al Khalidiya Bridge in Sharjah at dawn on Friday.
The Sharjah Police operations room was notified at 02:45 on Friday morning that a car carrying four young Arabs had been involved in a collision. They were on their way to the government complex in Al Liya when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle hit the metal barrier and continued, crossing over and landing in the water behind Al Jubail Souq.
The car had veered off course and plummeted into the water. The National Ambulance Service, Civil Defence Authority rescue teams, and police patrols were sent to the area.
Rescue squads arrived at the scene quickly. Four Arab youths in their early twenties were found inside the car. The fourth passenger sustained severe injuries and was transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital in Sharjah, where he died the following morning
