Five careless drivers who violated traffic laws, such as dangerous overtaking on the right, overtaking on the shoulder of the road, failing to leave a sufficient safety distance, and failing to follow the required lane, were detained by Abu Dhabi Police in collaboration with the Follow-up and Control Center. These infractions caused traffic congestion and put drivers’ safety at risk.

The Abu Dhabi Police’s Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate urged drivers to abide by traffic laws and driving ethics, refrain from acting improperly on the road, and maintain a safe enough distance to prevent unexpected stops by cars on the road and during internal traffic flow.

Additionally, the police advised drivers to use turn signals when they want to change lanes, avoid overtaking other cars improperly, make sure the road is open when overtaking or changing lanes, and refrain from moving between lanes in a way that puts them or others in risk.

Additionally, drivers were cautioned not to overtake on the shoulder of the road, which is designated for emergencies and emergency vehicles, and not to follow the required lane, which caused traffic jams and jeopardized other drivers’ safety.
