After transporting 55.6 million passengers on approximately 180,580 flights, spanning distances equal to more than 29,000 full orbits of the Earth, and making orders for 73 new aircraft, Emirates solidified its position as the largest international airline in the world in 2025.
The airline said in a statement released today that 2025 was characterized by a strong goal for creating the future of travel via continued excellence, as it commemorated 40 years since it began operations in October.
Starting with the first Airbus A350 aircraft being put into service in early January, the airline highlighted ten milestones that characterized its year. With 18 cities now covered by 16 aircraft, the A350 network grew quickly.
In 2025, Emirates launched daily nonstop flights to Shenzhen and Hangzhou in mainland China as part of its ongoing Asian development. It also operated services via Bangkok to Da Nang in Vietnam and Siem Reap in Cambodia.
In addition to its award-winning Premium Economy cabin, the airline continued to introduce new Airbus A350 aircraft and refurbish Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. Currently, the cabin serves over 100 aircraft and almost 70 cities, accounting for about 40% of Emirates’ passenger fleet.
