A circular about the official working hours for federal government organisations during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1446 AH has been released by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR).

The circular states that the official working hours for federal agencies and ministries during the holy month of Ramadan will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Unless their line of work demands otherwise, Friday’s working hours will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

FAHR added that during working days throughout the holy month of Ramadan, ministries and federal bodies are allowed to continue applying the flexible work restrictions that they have already established, in line with the interests of work.

The principles outlined therein must be followed, as well as the daily allotment of authorised working hours, with the potential to allow employees who work remotely on Fridays during Ramadan some leeway. On the basis of the authorised controls, the percentage of employees must not surpass 70% of the entity’s entire workforce.
