The mother of a juvenile student who was abused by the father’s son was ordered by the Al Ain Civil, Commercial and Administrative Cases Court to receive Dhs20,000 from the father. The incident occurred when one of the students kicked the restroom door without checking whether anyone was inside. As a result, the victim lost the tip of their little finger on their left hand and had to have it amputated.
The mother took legal action by suing the first child’s parent, seeking a total compensation of Dhs300,000 for her minor son’s past, present, and future suffering (permanent impairment), as well as payment for all costs and expenditures. According to the complaint, her kid was severely injured when another student aggressively shut the door of the school restroom on him while he was using the facilities.
The plaintiff further stated that the offender was found guilty in a criminal case for injuring the victim as a result of his carelessness in failing to take appropriate measures; specifically, he kicked the door to the restroom before checking to see if the victim was inside, which caused the door to close on the victim’s finger.
