A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by DP World, the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), and Nevomo to investigate possible collaboration in the creation and execution of a pilot project utilizing Nevomo’s exclusive MagRail technology for the self-propelled transportation of rail-based freight and cargo within the current port ecosystems.
Leading initiatives to implement cutting-edge freight technology with the goal of revolutionizing cargo movement in India are being spearheaded by DP World, a worldwide pioneer in intelligent end-to-end supply chain solutions.
To assess the viability of this innovative freight transportation system, the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), a major multi-cargo port under the jurisdiction of the Government of India, is promoting research into this technology at its terminal in Kandla.
The project represents a significant step in establishing port-hinterland connectivity that is faster, more efficient, and sustainable. In order to modernize and integrate the nation’s logistics infrastructure, this project is in line with India’s National Logistics Policy and PM Gati Shakti program.
On July 15, 2025, in Kandla, Gujarat, senior dignitaries, including Rizwan Soomar, CEO & Managing Director, Middle East, North Africa, India Subcontinent, DP World, Przemek (Ben) Paczek, CEO of Nevomo Group BV, and Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman of Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
