At least 16 people were killed and several more were injured in a fire that broke out Tuesday at a Bangladeshi textile factory and a nearby chemical storage, according to an official. According to Talha Bin Jashim, a fire department officer who cited witnesses, the fire started on the third level of a four-story factory in the Mirpur neighborhood of the capital city of Dhaka at around noon and then spread to a chemical warehouse that held bleaching powder, plastic, and hydrogen peroxide.
