On Saturday, tens of thousands of Palestinians who had been displaced returned to their neighborhoods in Gaza, navigating through dust-filled streets while bulldozers tore through the rubble of a ceasefire that had been in place for two years. Gaza has been utterly destroyed. While strolling across Gaza City, Mahmoud Al Shandoghli remarked, “I don’t know where we should live or where to go.”

To keep an eye on the ceasefire with Hamas, about 200 US troops traveled to Israel. A hub will be established to streamline the delivery of security, logistical, and humanitarian relief. According to the commander of the US military’s Central Command, he traveled to Gaza on Saturday in order to get it ready. Speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss specifics that have not yet been made public, a UN official stated that Israel has authorized increased humanitarian delivery, beginning on Sunday.

The World Food Programme stated that whenever Israel permits more delivery, it is prepared to reestablish 145 food distribution locations throughout the famine-stricken region. UN organizations supplied food at 400 distribution stations prior to Israel’s March closure of Gaza.

The distribution points will give Palestinians access to food at more locations than they could through the US and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which had run four locations since taking over distribution in late May, but the exact time and method of getting the food into Gaza are still unknown.
