The UAE is taking strong measures to fortify its international ties and firmly establish its position as a major center for commerce and investment worldwide, according to Foreign commerce Minister Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, who verified this under the guidance and vision of its astute leadership.
He stated that the prior Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), a group comprising Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus, is supplemented by the new Services and Investment Trade Agreement signed today with the Russian Federation.
The UAE Minister of Foreign Trade said, “This is the second services and investment agreement after the first with Belarus,” in reference to the larger negotiation environment with the other EAEU members. Additionally, the third agreement—with Armenia—has been completed. Negotiations with Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are anticipated to be completed soon.
To strengthen the UAE’s all-encompassing economic involvement with the Eurasian bloc, Dr. Al Zeyoudi stated that he is eager to complete all five bilateral service and investment agreements with EAEU members by the end of this year.
