
The commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, emphasized that between 2007 and 2024, the number of fatalities and accidents decreased by more than 90% due to efforts to meet key traffic safety indicators.
Since instructional endeavors on traffic safety regulations and procedures were directed towards different parts of society, Al Marri emphasized the critical role that awareness campaigns play in accomplishing these aims.
He said that the police command developed more than 24 instructional movies that showed the serious repercussions of breaking traffic regulations, including injuries and fatalities, and carried out eight awareness programs that benefited over 255,000 people.
According to reports, these films had over 117 million views. According to Al Marri, more than 145,000 infractions were reported by motorbike delivery services, 40,000 by bicycles and electric bikes, and 60,000 by pedestrians.
Over 54,000 personal mobility devices, 4,000 delivery motorbikes, and over 24,000 automobiles were seized. According to Al Marri, the death rate per 100,000 inhabitants fell from 21.7 in 2007 to 1.8 in 2024, and road traffic fatalities declined by almost 90% during the previous 18 years, from 2007 to 2024.
According to Al Marri, the number of pedestrian deaths dropped from 9.5 to 0.3, and the number of fatalities and serious injuries dropped from 36.2 to 4. Additionally, the number of road traffic fatalities per 10,000.
