Award-winning author and journalist Sara Hamdan’s eagerly awaited debut novel, “What Will People Think,” was launched with a special evening organised by the Emirates Literature Foundation in collaboration with Fiker Institute.

Ahlam Bolooki, CEO of the Emirates Literature Foundation, hosted a fireside conversation with the author at the special event on Sunday at the Fiker Institute in Alserkal Avenue. This was followed by a book signing and a festive reception.

A number of local authors and publishers, as well as representatives from Alserkal Avenue, Art Jameel, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, the Department of Economy and Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, and Seddiqi Holding, were among the prominent figures from Dubai’s literary and cultural community who attended the event.

The CEO of the Emirates Literature Foundation, Ahlam Bolooki, stated, “This is a historic moment for Sara and the entire literary ecosystem in Dubai.” Her transformation from a budding writer to a published novelist who tops worldwide bestseller lists is a brilliant illustration of what can happen when chance and skill are combined.
