An Arab lady was recognised by Brigadier Abdullah Saif Al Matrooshi, Director General of authorities Operations at Ajman Police, for her prompt reporting to the authorities after noticing a youngster scaling the edge of a balcony in a residential tower and her security awareness.

When the woman saw a youngster perilously climbing the window of a building across from her flat, Al Matrooshi commended her for her prompt response and appropriate attitude. She notified the police immediately, and they arrived promptly.

According to Colonel Ghaith Khalifa Al Kaabi, Director of the Comprehensive City Police Station, an Arab lady reported that a two-year-old kid was perilously perched on the edge of a balcony to the operations room. A patrol team was sent out right away and discovered that the unattended toddler had used a chair to scale the edge while his parents were elsewhere, putting his life in grave danger.

Colonel Al Kaabi further stated that the child’s parents were called and that they were being sued for their demonstrated neglect in the interest of the child’s protection. To prevent children from falling, Al Kaabi emphasised the importance of ensuring that residences have safety features, particularly in high-rise flats with windows that can be opened. He cautioned that leaving children unaccompanied might lead to legal implications under the UAE’s child rights legislation.
