According to a recent survey released on Monday, over two-thirds of worldwide businesses now allocate more than 15% of their total technology expenditures to AI initiatives, and nearly 88% of them have budgets specifically allocated for AI.
According to statistics collated by Nasscom, this significant investment push signifies a clear change from early experiments with Generative AI to the development of intelligent, goal-oriented systems known as AI agents. The paper, titled “Enterprise Experiments with AI Agents – 2025 Global Trends,” offers a thorough examination of how businesses worldwide are getting ready for the next stage of AI adoption.
According to Nasscom Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer Sangeeta Gupta, businesses are at a pivotal juncture. The next evolution of enterprise AI is represented by AI agents, which necessitates philosophical changes in our understanding of work, intelligence, and autonomy,” she stated. She did, however, also stress that robust trust, data preparedness, and ongoing human supervision will be necessary for expanding AI systems safely.
The study demonstrates how businesses are shifting from passive data analysis to more active AI systems that can carry out activities and make choices with human oversight. It is based on responses from more than 100 corporations in eight to nine different worldwide regions and more than ten different sectors.
