According to Abu Dhabi Airports, it handled more than 15.8 million passengers between January 1st and June 30th, 2025—a significant 13.1% rise over the same period in 2024. With 15.5 million travelers passing through its gates until the end of June, up 13.2% year over year, Zayed International Airport (AUH) was a major contributor to the growth.

In the first half of 2025, there were 133,533 flights at the five airports, contributing to a 9.2% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same period the previous year. AUH observed 93,858 aircraft movements, which is 11.4% more than the 84,286 flights recorded in H1 2024. The expansion of Abu Dhabi Airports’ worldwide reach continues to be a key component of its growth plan.

Among the noteworthy additions are Fly Cham’s service to Damascus, Air Seychelles’ six weekly flights, and China Eastern Airlines’ four-times-weekly Shanghai service (with daily service starting in September). By adding additional routes to Madurai, Bhubaneswar, and Vishakhapatnam, IndiGo significantly enhanced its footprint at AUH. It solidified its position as the airline’s most connected hub in the United Arab Emirates.

“Abu Dhabi Airports has consistently delivered positive growth for the past 17 quarters, which is testament to the dedication and collective effort of the entire Abu Dhabi Airports team,” stated Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. It displays our operational flexibility and dedication to provide a first-rate flying experience and drawing in foreign investment.
