Actress Alia Bhatt has joined the growing list of admirers praising Yami Gautam’s performance in her latest release, Haq. After watching the courtroom drama, Alia took to her Instagram Stories to shower appreciation on Yami, calling Haq one of her finest performances to date. Complimenting her contemporary, the Gangubai Kathiawadi star wrote, “Queen @yamigautam you are pure craft, heart and all things gold in Haq! One of my top female performances of all time.”
Alia also shared that she personally called Yami to congratulate her on the film and described herself as a genuine fan. “As I mentioned over the phone too, am a Yami fan waiting eagerly for all your work to once again charm and entertain us all,” she added.
Several other members of the film industry also took to social media to applaud Yami and the team behind Haq. Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan praised both Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi, calling Yami’s performance award-worthy. She also described Emraan’s role as his best so far.
Currently streaming on Netflix, Haq is a courtroom drama believed to be inspired by the landmark Supreme Court judgement in the Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum case. The film focuses on important matrimonial rights of women within Muslim households.
