In order to address a problem that cars have at pedestrian crossings around Abu Dhabi, the authorities began installing and running traffic signals on a number of walkways. The action will ease traffic flow, control pedestrian crossings, and lessen congestion, particularly during rush hours.
In contrast to the previous time, when vehicle congestion resulted from haphazard pedestrian crossings, junctions with pedestrian traffic signals were seen to have smoother traffic flow for both pedestrians and automobiles.
Saeed Ahmed Al Dhahouri stated that he enjoyed to travel and constantly went to new places to learn about other cultures. He also mentioned that he has seen that UAE residents and nationals drove with decent manners while travelling to other countries. According to him, there existed a custom of pausing to wait for a lady with small children, an old person, or a young adolescent, among others.
He clarified that the problem was that healthy pedestrians were accustomed to slowing down without feeling any sense of social duty, which disrupted traffic and prevented vehicles from reaching their destinations on time.
