Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised Malta, Canada, Australia, Andorra, Finland, Iceland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Portugal, and San Marino for their plans to recognise the State of Palestine.

According to him, these stances are historic and demonstrate the rising worldwide support for the Palestinian people’s fundamental rights, including their right to create an independent, sovereign Palestinian state.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed emphasized that the growing number of nations announcing their intention to do so is a good sign that international efforts to bring about a fair and sustainable peace are progressing.

These initiatives help to revitalize the political process to settle the Israeli-Palestinian issue, improve regional peace and security, and further the ambitions of the local populace for growth and prosperity.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed further urged the international community to follow suit and recognize the State of Palestine, emphasizing that doing so reflects a moral, humanitarian, and legal obligation that would improve the likelihood of a lasting peace in the area and support the realization of a comprehensive and just resolution to the conflict.
