A Team From India and Abu Dhabi Customs Investigates Working Together to Promote Bilateral Commerce

In cooperation with an official delegation from the Republic of India, headed by Arti Agarwal Srinivas, Director-General of Systems and Data Management at the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Ministry of Finance, India, the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs organised a workshop. Members of the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi were also part of the trip. The workshop’s objectives were to investigate ways to improve supply chain efficiency, facilitate bilateral commerce, and advance the two countries’ digital trade corridor.

Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Customs, met with the delegation during the visit. The two parties talked about ways to improve procedural efficiency and guarantee the smooth movement of goods across borders by strengthening customs cooperation and accelerating digital transformation throughout the customs sector. The event demonstrated Abu Dhabi Customs’ state-of-the-art digital ecosystem and its state-of-the-art technical capabilities for customs operations management. These include the invisible customs ecosystem, blockchain technology, government service platforms like TAMM and ATLP, and a clever, integrated infrastructure that offers 24/7 customs services.

System integration between the two nations, data sharing protocols, and expedited customs procedures were among the main technical subjects covered. The MAITRI initiative, a middleware platform created to interface with different national systems to promote international trade, served as the backdrop for these talks.
