In the third cycle of the Dubai Sustainable Tourism (DST) Stamp, 237 hotels have been recognized by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) for their exceptional dedication to sustainability and ethical hospitality practices. The growth highlights the Dubai hospitality sector’s dedication to responsible, sustainable tourism and supports the UAE’s international commitments to sustainable development, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It represents a 55% increase over the 153 hotels honored in the second cycle and more than triples the 70 hotels recognized when the program launched in 2023.

Hotels that excelled in fulfilling DET’s sustainability requirements received 22 Gold, 92 Silver, and 123 Bronze certificates at the end of the third cycle of the sustainability award program. Energy and water efficiency, waste management, ethical sourcing, staff participation, guest awareness, community efforts, and climate action are just a few of the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues covered by the criteria. The notable increase in the number of accredited hotels is a reflection of Dubai’s hospitality industry’s increasingly methodical approach to sustainability, with hotels incorporating these standards into daily operations and furthering Dubai’s larger environmental, economic, and tourism goals.

In order to guarantee openness, consistency, and compliance with DET’s 19 Sustainability Requirements, hotels that applied for the DST Stamp underwent a thorough evaluation process carried out by independent third-party assessors. A senior jury committee then reviewed and approved the final results. Awarded hotels maintain their tier for a year, promoting long-term sustainability and ongoing development in Dubai’s hospitality industry.
