Former US President Joe Biden made his first public statements since he disclosed he had an aggressive type of prostate cancer on Friday, telling reporters he was feeling “optimistic” about the future.

The outlook is favourable. We are working on all of it, you know. It is progressing. Biden, 82, declared, “I feel good,” during an event in Delaware that coincided with Monday’s late federal vacation for Memorial Day.

Earlier this month, Biden’s office revealed that he has prostate cancer, categorised as serious, with a Gleason score of 9. The seasoned Democrat informed reporters that he has chosen a course of therapy and that “it is anticipated that we will be able to overcome this.

My bones are sturdy. Therefore, it hasn’t penetrated and isn’t in any organ. Thus, I’m feeling well,” he declared. Concerns over the physical and mental well-being of the outgoing president, who was the oldest individual to serve in the position, dominated the 2024 election.

Biden’s bid for a second term was terminated following a dismal debate performance versus Trump. According to Biden’s office, the disease had spread to his bones when they made the announcement. However, Biden assured reporters, “We’re all hopeful about the diagnosis.” One of the world’s top surgeons is collaborating with me.
