We recently had the opportunity to have an insightful conversation with Nadeem Najjar, Founder of Gentz, a mobile male grooming service provider. He is also the founder of several other companies including Fitify, and Vadeva. As a serial lifestyle entrepreneur, Nadeem’s vision is to build sustainable and efficient businesses that run on their own. With Gentz, Nadeem Najjar is redefining the male grooming industry, making top-notch grooming experiences available at the doorstep, offering quality and a hassle-free experience to customers every time.

The Entrepreneurial Journey Of Nadeem Najjar

We started the interview by asking, “What originally motivated you to launch multiple businesses, and how has your perspective evolved with each venture?”

Nadeem shared, What first motivated me to start multiple businesses was a mix of family influence and paying attention to everyday needs. I grew up around architects and interior designers, so I’ve always been surrounded by conversations about space, design, and how things should feel. That background naturally led me to launch my first business in fit-out and interior design — not just to make places look good, but to create spaces that work well for the people using them.

But it wasn’t just me. The first business was actually something my dad and I built together. He brought decades of experience and a deep understanding of design and construction, while I brought a fresh perspective and a drive to turn those skills into a scalable, service-focused business. It was a true partnership — combining generational knowledge with a modern approach, and it laid the foundation for everything I’ve done since.

Then came the next chapter, which grew naturally from the first. As we completed more fit-out and interior projects, especially for investment properties and vacation homes, some clients started asking if we could help manage them too. They wanted the same level of care, quality, and attention to detail we brought to the design and build phase to continue after handover. That’s what led to the launch of my second business — a property management service focused on delivering top-tier upkeep, guest experiences, and hassle-free ownership. It was a direct extension of what we were already doing, offering clients peace of mind by treating their spaces like our own.

As I began managing short-term rentals, I noticed guests — especially men — often asked for convenience-focused services like home haircuts or grooming. There weren’t many quality options out there, and that’s when I saw the gap. That insight led to my third business: a home service male grooming brand designed to bring clean, professional, and reliable grooming straight to your door.

With each venture, my mindset has evolved. I started as someone building businesses to solve specific problems. Now, I see myself as creating lifestyle solutions, services that support how people want to live today: more efficiently and more comfortably.” He added.

Balancing Across Industries

We further asked, “How do you balance your time, energy, and focus across different companies and industries?”

Balancing my time across different businesses comes down to good planning and great people. I make sure each company has a strong team and clear processes so that I’m not stuck in the day-to-day. I divide my week based on what needs attention, some days are focused on design projects, others on property operations or the grooming service. What helps most is that all my businesses are connected by a bigger purpose which is making everyday life easier and better for people. That keeps me focused, and it makes switching between them feel more natural instead of like I’m juggling random tasks.” Nadeem explained.

A Lesson Learnt Across The Journey

We requested Nadeem Najjar to share a lesson he learned from an early venture that shaped his approach to leading his current businesses.

He mentioned, “One big lesson I learned early on is that you can’t grow if you try to do everything yourself. I used to be involved in every tiny detail, thinking it was the only way to maintain quality. But all it did was slow me down and burn me out. That experience taught me the importance of trusting your team and building solid systems. Now, across all my businesses, I focus more on leading with clarity, hiring people I genuinely trust, and giving them space to own their roles. That shift has allowed me to scale, stay creative, and enjoy the process a lot more.”

Navigating Through Challenges

To learn more about the challenges overcome by Nadeem Najjar, we inquired, “Can you share a specific moment that challenged your thinking and helped you grow as an entrepreneur?”

He reflected, “One moment that challenged my thinking was during the early stages of launching the home male grooming service. I noticed a clear gap in the market — men were underserved when it came to high-quality, convenient grooming solutions that fit into their busy lives. Still, I was hesitant at first, mostly because the traditional mindset was that grooming had to happen in a salon.

But I kept asking myself, if services like food delivery and ride-hailing could shift to an on-demand model, why not grooming? That shift in perspective pushed me to trust the idea and go all in. It taught me that just because something hasn’t been done a certain way doesn’t mean it can’t work — especially when you’re solving a real, everyday problem. Since then, I’ve become much more confident in trusting my instincts when I spot a genuine opportunity.

Attracting Business Opportunities

We were curious to learn how Nadeem Najjar assesses the ideas that are worth trying. So, we posed the question, “How do you identify which business ideas are worth pursuing, and what helps you validate them?”

Nadeem replied, “For me, it always starts with observation. I pay attention to gaps like things that feel outdated or inefficient in everyday life. If I face a problem more than once, or see others struggling with the same thing, that’s usually a signal.

From there I always ask myself if this is something I would pay for, or if would others pay for this. The goal is to get as much feedback as possible early on. What helps most is staying customer-focused. If people are not only using the service but telling others about it, that’s when I know I’m onto something worth building.”

Thinking Outside The Box

We asked, “Have you ever implemented an unconventional strategy across your businesses? How did it turn out?”

Yes, one unconventional strategy I implemented was expanding a simple grooming service into a full-scale, lifestyle experience for men at home. What started as just haircuts and beard trims has now grown into over 50 different services.

Most people assumed men wouldn’t go for that level of variety, especially at home. But we leaned into the idea that modern men value convenience, cleanliness, and quality and we built a menu around that. A risky move but worked in our favor. By listening to customer feedback and constantly adding new offerings, we turned what could’ve been just another grooming brand into something way more personal and lifestyle-focused. It’s helped us stand out in a crowded space.” He mentioned.

Staying Ahead Of The Curve

To ensure long-term success for a business, staying updated with the latest industry trends is crucial. So, we asked, “How do you stay ahead of trends and innovate across different markets or sectors?”

He responded, “I stay ahead of trends by staying close to the customer. Whether it’s interior design, property management, or male grooming, I make it a point to regularly talk to clients, listen to feedback, and notice how their expectations are changing. I also keep an eye on other industries, not just my own. Sometimes the best ideas come from completely different spaces. Innovation for me isn’t about chasing every new trend, it’s about spotting what actually makes life easier or better, and moving fast to build around that.”

He added, “Start small, think big, and never stop improving.”

Busting Common Industry Myths

Addressing the misconceptions of his industry, we asked Nadeem Najjar, “What’s a common misconception people have about running multiple businesses?”

A common misconception is that running multiple businesses requires constant attention to each one when in reality, it’s about setting up the right systems, building a strong team, and knowing when to step back and let things run on their own.” He replied.
