Some F&B businesses are using AI-driven solutions to increase productivity, save waste, and better understand customer preferences as artificial intelligence continues to revolutionise industries worldwide. Top executives in the food services industry claim that artificial intelligence (AI) has increased efficiency and changed how companies handle consumer insights and food distribution.
AI is transforming sales and distribution for certain F&B businesses. On the sidelines of Gulfood, a Food & Business sourcing event, Justin Steinbach, CEO of IFFCO Professional, told Khaleej Times that artificial intelligence (AI) had improved market sales efficiency by 28%. This implies that the technology can forecast which foods will be the most popular in certain establishments (restaurants, hotels). Therefore, the vehicle precisely sends off products that will be used efficiently after it is loaded. AI can also “predict what we can sell,” he continued.
The Dubai-based company IFFCO, which has operations in over 50 countries and owns brands like London Dairy, Igloo, and Noor, is the parent company of IFFCO Professional. Steinbach stated that “the more you take out the human element of production, the less error you have” in reference to production stage errors. He continued by saying that his organisation has increased overall production and efficiency since implementing AI more than a year ago.
