In collaboration with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Museum of the Future has showcased a Joby Aviation aerial taxi prototype. The prototype displayed on the museum’s “Tomorrow, Today floor” demonstrates Dubai’s dedication to the Dubai Self-Driving Strategy and its progressive vision for intelligent, sustainable mobility.
With a target of 25% self-driving journeys by 2030, Dubai’s efforts to revolutionise transport are anchored by the aerial taxi initiative. The project uses cutting-edge electric technology to lower carbon emissions while promoting global ecological goals.
We are honoured to present the aerial taxi model at the Museum of the Future, which highlights Dubai’s ambition and forward-thinking approach to redefining mobility in this vibrant city,” stated Khaled Al Awadhi, Director of Transportation Systems at RTA’s Public Transport Agency. Dubai will be the first city in the world to introduce the aerial taxi project, which is expected to start in the first quarter of 2026 and signal the start of a revolutionary age in urban mobility.
In addition to adhering to the strictest safety and security regulations to guarantee the welfare of its passengers, the aerial taxi is notable for its vertical takeoff and landing capabilities.
