The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s Minister of Finance, Dr. Abdelhakim Shibli, met with Mohamed Bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, in the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai on Friday.
The main goal of the discussion was to discuss how the two fraternal countries could work together more effectively in the financial sector and other areas of shared interest.
Al Hussaini greeted Dr. Shibli to the United Arab Emirates, congratulated him on his recent appointment as Jordan’s Finance Minister, and wished him luck in his new position.
Dr. Shibli, for his part, praised the UAE and Jordan’s strong financial and economic ties and stated his desire to expand finance sector cooperation in a way that benefits both countries’ common interests.
A Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan was signed today in October by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The first CEPA to be signed between the UAE and an Arab nation, the deal aims to deepen bilateral trade and investment ties, accelerate growth in priority industries, create jobs, and strengthen the supply chain.
