Sharjah: According to her family, a 32-year-old Indian expat who was a licensed dentist and mother of two little children passed away on Monday morning after falling at her home in the Al Qasimia neighbourhood of Sharjah. The woman, whose family named her as Dr. Afeena Raheem, had left dentistry to take care of her kids, according to the family. When Afeena passed out in their house, her husband, Yasar T, a teacher, was at work. According to her husband, Hakeem, his sister Ramsheena, who resides at the house with her son, was there but asleep at the time.
After learning of Afeena’s passing, Hakeem, who resides in Saudi Arabia and travelled to the United Arab Emirates, said that his wife had sent their son to school before turning in for the nite. When I called her at around nine in the morning, she was on leave and had gone back to bed. He told Gulf News on Tuesday nite, “She later woke up after hearing the cries of Afeena’s younger child.” Then, he alleged, Ramsheena discovered Afeena unconscious in the kitchen. Hakeem claims that Ramsheena contacted an ambulance and tried to help Afeena right away by doing CPR. He added that although Afeena was brought to a private hospital, she was not able to be saved.
