Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, was welcomed by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.
During the meeting, held at His Highness’s office, Sheikh Hamdan underlined the value of investing in domestic talent, boosting its competitiveness, and increasing its chances in the labour market. Additionally, he emphasised the necessity of an integrated local and federal framework that helps national talent effectively contribute to the UAE’s development and accomplish its objectives in a variety of areas.
In keeping with the UAE’s strategic objectives of creating a knowledge- and innovation-based economy and investing in human capital, the meeting also examined initiatives to expand the country’s labour market, including using AI and cutting-edge technologies to improve government services, increase efficiency, and better support employers and employees.
Another major topic of discussion during the meeting was “emiratization,” with a focus on boosting Emirati talent’s involvement in the private sector and developing more specialized career options. In order to give future generations the skills necessary to sustain the UAE’s ongoing development, the talks also emphasised the necessity of expanding scientific disciplines and matching higher education with labour market demands.
